The Carolina Panthers are coming in from all angles with that money on Friday. Now, Johnny Hekker is going to see a little of it.

As first reported by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, and subsequently confirmed by the team, Carolina has come to terms with the free-agent punter on a three-year deal.

Panthers are giving former Rams punter Johnny Hekker a 3 year, $7.6 million deal, including $5M fully guaranteed at signing, per source.

Hekker, 32, spent his entire 10-year with the Los Angeles Rams—who released him earlier in the week. Over that time, he’s earned six All-Pro nods, four Pro Bowl selections and a spot on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

  1. Thanks for the details! I have mixed feelings about this, the guy was a stud. Of course I understand from a business stand point we need the cap space. My guess is they bring back Bojorquez, he is an unrestricted free agent and many believe he beat out Heckler in the punting competition before the 2021 NFL season.
